The Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting course has been tailored to meet the unique requirements of the Local Government sector. What sets this course apart is that it was developed and is delivered by Pro Leaders Academy, subject matter experts in the field of government procurement, with the specific legislative and process needs of NSW local council staff in mind.

This course offers a practical, hands on program in which participants will practice developing the necessary procurement plans, gaining approvals, developing key documents such as the statement of work or statement of requirements, the Request for Tender and the Tender Evaluation Plan. Participants will also have the opportunity to conduct several realistic simulated tender evaluations to select a preferred provider. Participants will also become aware of the legislative, legal and policy framework within which regulates government procurement, contracting processes and will be able to conduct your procurement and contracting activities within the rules.

This Certificate IV qualification will develop skills to enable you to:
• Plan, conduct and manage procurement processes
• Develop and manage contracts for the delivery of goods and services
• Identify, plan for and manage risks in the procurement process
• Exercise delegations

The Certificate IV is 11 days long. Participants will be able to complete most of the training and their assessment tasks in the time allocated for the program - no homework!
