ZOOM LIVE TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR NEW ZEALAND CANDIDATES ONLY

There are three core units of competency associated with URBAN PEST MANAGEMENT CONTRACTOR QUALIFIED (and are part of CPP30115 Certificate III in Urban Pest Management)
CPPPMT3005 Manage pests without applying pesticides
CPPPMT3006 Manage pests by applying pesticides
CPPPMT3018 Maintain equipment and pesticide storage area in pest management vehicles

ProTrain workshops are CAPPED AT A MAXIMUM OF 10 STUDENTS to allow for a more pro-active learning environment and more beneficial practical sessions

PRE-REQUISITES
It is highly recommended that candidates have a minimum of 4 weeks hands on experience under the guidance of a qualified pest manager


DELIVERY
This course is delivered by ZOOM LIVE TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT
5 DAY WORKSHOP
Monday to Friday
9:00am to 5:30pm NZST

And then followed by one on one Zoom interview sessions organised between the student and the trainer.


COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE
Legislation relevant to those involved in public health pest control
• Storage and transport of pesticides
• Control of vertebrate pests including rats and mice
• Public health insect pest biology and control including cockroaches, spiders, ants, wasps, flies, biting
borers, stored product insects etc
• Pesticide application equipment
• Personal protective equipment
• Choice and use of insecticide and rodenticide formulations
• New developments in active ingredients, formulations and application techniques


ASSESSMENT
The workshop consists of a mix of theory and practical assessments. Students must successfully complete all assessments to be considered competent. Candidates will be required to demonstrate their competency in a real workplace situation, to show that they are able to transfer the skills and knowledge they have acquired during this workshop.
The practical assessment component must be completed by ZOOM live or by video submission.

Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

WHAT DO I NEED
Students will need to purchase a copy of Urban Pest Management in Australia 5th Edition, these are available from Garrards Pesticides New Zealand or on line.

Course and assessment material will be sent electronically, SO STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO PRINT OUT THE REQUIRED MATERIALS BEFORE THE COURSE.

Access to a computer or tablet with video and audio capabilities with good internet access
Biro, pencil, calculator
A quiet space within the work or home area to participate in the program

COURSE FEE - Fee is set at AUD$1300.00, an invoice will be issued after the enrolment process is completed.

Payment can be made via EFTPOS or direct deposit any time prior to workshop commencement.

ProTrain reserves the right to postpone workshops if minimum numbers are not met.

Why we collect your personal information

As a registered training organisation (RTO), we collect your personal information so we can process and manage your enrolment in a vocational education and training (VET) course with us.

How we use your personal information

We use your personal information to enable us to deliver VET courses to you, and otherwise, as needed, to comply with our obligations as an RTO.

How we disclose your personal information

Protrain Training Consulting Services are required by law (under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cth) (NVETR Act)) to disclose the personal information we collect about you to the National VET Data Collection kept by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER). The NCVER is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and communicating research and statistics about the Australian VET sector.

We are also authorised by law (under the NVETR Act) to disclose your personal information to the relevant state or territory training authority.

How the NCVER and other bodies handle your personal information

The NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the NVETR Act. Your personal information may be used and disclosed by NCVER for purposes that include populating authenticated VET transcripts; administration of VET; facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage; and understanding the VET market.

The NCVER is authorised to disclose information to the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE), Commonwealth authorities, State and Territory authorities (other than registered training organisations) that deal with matters relating to VET and VET regulators for the purposes of those bodies, including to enable:

  • administration of VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation
  • facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage
  • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information.

The NCVER may also disclose personal information to persons engaged by NCVER to conduct research on NCVER's behalf.

The NCVER does not intend to disclose your personal information to any overseas recipients.
