There are two core units of competency associated with Timber Pest Management (and they are both part of CPP30115 Certificate III in Urban Pest Management)
CPPPMT3008 Inspect and report on timber pests
CPPPMT3010 Control timber pests
ProTrain Timber Pest Management course is recommended for experienced Urban Pest Technicians or Building Inspectors that are looking to expand their skill sets to include the following:
Inspecting, Identifying, Reporting and Managing the most commonly encountered timber pests
Completing Timber Pest reports for inspections completed in commercial and industrial environments
Apply non chemical and chemical methods of Timber Pest Management using appropriate equipment
ProTrain workshops are CAPPED AT A MAXIMUM OF 10 STUDENTS to allow for a more pro-active learning environment and more beneficial practical sessions
DELIVERY
This course is delivered by both classroom and on site practical training delivered over a
5 DAY FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOP
Monday to Friday
8:00am to 4:30pm
COURSE ELIGIBILITY
Prior to acceptance on this program each candidate is required to provide copy of their Statement of Attainment for either PRMPM05A, PRMPM06A & PRMPM18A or CPPPMT3005, CPPPMT3006 & CPPPMT3018 or evidence of currently undertaking training in these units as unit 6 is a prerequisite for unit 10.

In addition, to qualify for enrolment in this workshop and to enable students to apply their training in an industry environment, students are required to either be currently employed, commencing employment or have pre-arranged & documented work placement in the urban timber pest management sector.
The student must be able to provide evidence of completing at least 12 Timber Pest programs under supervision of a qualified timber pest management technician
COURSE INCLUDES
On-site practical aspects of professional pest management in relation to timber pests within both domestic and commercial environments using a range of the latest detection, monitoring and application equipment products and techniques.
ASSESSMENT
The workshop consists of a mix of theory and practical assessments.
Students must successfully complete all assessments to be considered competent.
Students will be required to demonstrate their competency in a real workplace situation, to show that they are able to transfer the skills and knowledge they have acquired during this workshop.
Upon successful completion of the course, those students who have provided proof of industry experinece will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.
(Students may then need to apply to the relevant state body - for a Timber Pest Management Licence).
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING
Copy of Urban Pest Mangement 5th Edition
Biro, pencil, calculator to use during assessment; completed logbook
Students are encouraged to bring their own inspection equipment such as torches, tappers, screwdrivers, moisture meters.
Suitable clothing and footwear on practical days (typically days 4 & 5) including shirt, long trousers, enclosed shoes, hat & sunscreen
PROGRAM FEE
Program Fee is $1900.00 free of GST.
Fee is inclusive of all venue charges, practical on-site charges, consumables, presentation materials, text books, and handouts.
Morning tea and lunch is also provided within the course fee.
Payment can be made via EFTPOS or direct deposit any time prior to workshop commencement.
ProTrain reserves the right to postpone any workshop if minimum numbers are not met.
