ProTrain workshops are CAPPED AT A MAXIMUM OF 10 STUDENTS to allow for a more pro-active learning environment and more beneficial practical sessions

DELIVERY
This course is delivered by both classroom and on site practical training delivered over a
4 DAY FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOP
Monday to Thursday
8:00am to 4:30pm

PRE-REQUISITES
It is highly recommended that candidates have spent a reasonable amount of time assisting a qualified fumigator and have a basic understanding of the fumigation process.
A Fumigation Skills Declaration will be forwarded to you to be completed and signed off by a licensed fumigation technician who has been supervising your fumigations. Qualifications will not be issued until this is presented as evidence of your experience.

THE COURSE
The program will include the site environments of Containers, Stacks and Silos while mainly concentrating on Phosphine and Methyl bromide fumigants.
The program will also include the on-site practical aspects of fumigant application and live monitoring using a range of the latest detection and monitoring equipment.
Arrangements can be made for additional units that are required in order to meet state licensing requirements in NSW, SA & WA. Please contact us for details specific to your individual state requirements.

ASSESSMENT
The workshop consists of a mix of theory and practical assessments. Students must successfully complete all assessments to be considered competent. Candidates will be required to demonstrate their competency in a real workplace situation, to show that they are able to transfer the skills and knowledge they have acquired during this workshop.
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be issued with a Statement of Attainment, plus the Site Environment Declaration required by Qld Health and a Gas Specific Declaration required by some other states for licensing - Vic, Tas, SA & NT
(Candidates will then need to apply to their relevant state body - for a Fumigators Licence).


WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING
Biro, pencil, calculator
PPE - full face mask & appropriate respirator cartridge will be required as candidates will be entering the actual designated Risk Area during the practical work tasks.
Gas cannisters required for the workshop should be of the "AX" O type suitable for Methyl bromide. (ProTrain is able to quote on supplying these if required, please indicate this when booking).
Suitable clothing and footwear on practical days (typically days 3 & 4) including high visibility shirt or vest, long trousers, enclosed shoes, hat & sunscreen

PROGRAM FEE
Program fee is $1950.00
Fee is inclusive of all venue charges, practical on-site charges, consumables, presentation materials, text books, and handouts.
Morning tea and lunch is also provided within the course fee.

An invoice will be emailed to you upon enrolment confirmation. Payment can be made via EFTPOS or direct deposit any time prior to workshop commencement.

ProTrain reserves the right to postpone any workshop if minimum numbers are not met.

As a registered training organisation (RTO), we collect your personal information so we can process and manage your enrolment in a vocational education and training (VET) course with us.

How we use your personal information

We use your personal information to enable us to deliver VET courses to you, and otherwise, as needed, to comply with our obligations as an RTO.

How we disclose your personal information

Protrain Training Consulting Services are required by law (under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cth) (NVETR Act)) to disclose the personal information we collect about you to the National VET Data Collection kept by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER). The NCVER is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and communicating research and statistics about the Australian VET sector.

We are also authorised by law (under the NVETR Act) to disclose your personal information to the relevant state or territory training authority.

How the NCVER and other bodies handle your personal information

The NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the NVETR Act. Your personal information may be used and disclosed by NCVER for purposes that include populating authenticated VET transcripts; administration of VET; facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage; and understanding the VET market.

The NCVER is authorised to disclose information to the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE), Commonwealth authorities, State and Territory authorities (other than registered training organisations) that deal with matters relating to VET and VET regulators for the purposes of those bodies, including to enable:

  • administration of VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation
  • facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage
  • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information.

The NCVER may also disclose personal information to persons engaged by NCVER to conduct research on NCVER's behalf.

The NCVER does not intend to disclose your personal information to any overseas recipients.
