7 Core Units from TLI21315 Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure


This is a general qualification for a person engaged in basic operations within the rail infrastructure environment undertaking a range of tasks involving known routines and procedures, and taking some responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

This course has been designed and mapped to meet the following 7 core rail infrastructure national units of competencies:

  • TLIF1001 Follow work health and safety procedure

  • TLIF2010 Apply fatigue management strategies

  • TLIB1028 Maintain and use hand tools

  • TLIW2001 Operate under track protection rules

  • TLID001 Shift materials safely using manual handling methods

  • TLIU2008 Apply environmental procedures to rail infrastructure

  • TLIE1003 Participate in basic workplace communication


This theory module of this course is fully completed online; once you have successfully completed this online theory module, the online theory assessments, attended the included practical workshop/assessment, you will then be issued a Course Completion Transcript which meets the basic training requirements for the most Australian Rail Networks.


This course is a Fee for Service Course. The course fee is: $350, includes the Practical Assessment and is GST free.

  • I will complete all requirements of the 7 Core Unit Course Pre-Training Module at http://www.gotrainlms.com.au

  • Acknowledge that a requirement of completing the 7 Core Unit course is to have access to a computer or mobile device and the internet to complete the Training and Theory Assessment.

  • On completion of the online course, I am able to attend a half-day Practical Assessment session in Tuggerah NSW, Salisbury Qld or Melbourne Vic.

  • Acknowledge that this Seven Core Unit course covers training and assessment for only seven units of competency toward a Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure.

  • Acknowledge that I will not be awarded a qualification on completion, but will receive a Statement of Attainment for the 7 units of competency completed (as listed above).


Important information:

  • To be able to complete this course on line you will need access to a computer

  • The best internet program to access the online course is Google Chrome. Unfortunately all other internet web browser’s do not fully work with the online learning environment. Download a Google Chrome here https://www.google.com/chrome/

  • If you successfully complete the course you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

  • Depending on your current knowledge or experience, this course could take a minimum of 24 hours of training to complete the online training and online theory assessment (This may vary depending on how you study and how much reviewing you do each time you study).

  • The assessment comprises of a online written and series of practical assessments in a simulated environment. Once you have successfully completed the online assessments, you will need to attend a 4 hour practical assessment session at one of our offices

  • If you do not already have SARC, you may need to also complete the additional SARC Course which is an additional fee (not covered by this course). Please refer to your employer, recruiter, rail authority or contact us for more information.



The Statement of Attainment is evidence of completion of the training only and is not an authorisation to go on track. Although this training is recognised nationally units of competencies, every rail operator or track owner will require you to meet some additional requirements before you may be permitted to work in the rail environment. They will give you a:
    • local induction to the rules and regulations of their business

    • site induction EVERY time you go to a new work location that has its own unique hazards and risks, and they may have other regulations to comply with.

    Once your enrolment has been verified you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours for you to access your course, which will contain your username and password details for the course.



    Failure to complete payment will mean that you Enrolment will cancelled and no results or Statement of Attainment issued.
